Is it time to update your business waste policy and install a recycling point sign?

As the festive season approaches, businesses across the UK brace for a surge in activity, and with it, a surge in waste. From retail and warehousing to manufacturing and office environments, the run-up to Christmas brings increased packaging, food waste, and general refuse. That’s why our Sign of the Month for November is the Recycling Point sign: a timely, practical reminder to keep sustainability front of mind during one of the busiest periods of the year.

A Green Signal for Greener Practices

Our Recycling Point sign is a green safe condition sign, clearly indicating where recyclable materials should be deposited. Whether it’s plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, or food waste, the sign helps guide employees, visitors, and contractors towards responsible disposal. It’s a simple but powerful tool for encouraging environmentally conscious behaviour in any workplace.

Available in a range of sizes and materials, the sign can be tailored to suit your environment; whether you’re outfitting a warehouse, a staff kitchen, or a public-facing retail space. We also offer signage for specific waste streams, including a Household Plastics sign, a Cardboard and Paper sign, a Mixed Glass waste sign, and a Food Waste sign, making it easy to build a clear, compliant recycling station.

New Regulations: Are You Ready?

From 31 March 2025, new Simpler Recycling regulations came into force across England, requiring businesses with 10 or more full-time employees to separate their waste into distinct categories: dry recyclables (paper, card, plastic, metal, glass), food waste, and general waste. These rules apply to all non-domestic premises including offices, warehouses, shops, and public sector organisations, and are part of the UK government’s wider push to align workplace recycling with household standards.

For businesses, this means it’s no longer enough to have a single general waste bin. Clear signage and accessible recycling points are now a legal requirement, not just a best practice. Micro-firms with fewer than 10 employees have until 31 March 2027 to comply.

Why November?

November is the perfect time to spotlight recycling. With Black Friday, Christmas orders, and seasonal stock rotations in full swing, waste volumes rise sharply. It’s also a month when many businesses begin planning for the new year, making it an ideal moment to review compliance, refresh signage, and reinforce sustainable habits.

By making Recycling Point our Sign of the Month, we’re helping workplaces stay ahead of the curve. Whether you're updating your facilities or preparing for inspections, this sign is a visible commitment to environmental responsibility.

Make It Clear. Make It Count.

Recycling isn’t just about bins, it’s about behaviour. And behaviour starts with visibility. Our Recycling Point signs make it easy for everyone on site to do the right thing, reducing contamination and improving recycling rates.
